Convection toasters are becoming quite popular. But what makes them different from a normal electric toaster?
Convection toasters are actually also broilers! That's what makes them special. They have built in fans that blow the heated air around the food completely, and this is known as convection cooking.
Food will be cooked faster and more thouroughly because of the convection used in the toaster. The heated air makes it around the food completely, instead of heated the food through the bottom like you would normally see in a typical toaster oven.

As you can see, there are several advantages in using a convection toaster. In fact, full size ovens are also made as convection ovens too, but most families haven't bothered to try them out. They really are worth a try though, and you'll be amazed at how much faster the food cooks!
Toaster Convection: How Does it Really Work?
As I previously mentioned, convection means the use of moving air. But lets look a little deeper into this, especially for those of uf who love figuring out how things work!
A convection oven or toaster uses one or more fans to blow hot air around the food. The hot air can be generated by either gas or electric burners. The heated air is moved and circulated through the oven by the fans, therefor increasing the amount of heat that the food is subjected to.
The evening out of the heating of the food decreases the time needed to cook the food, and the food will also be cooked all the way through.
The downside is that convection ovens and toasters can be on the pricier side when compared to their standard non-convection counterparts. They can also be rather noisy from the fans, especially depending on the quality of the product.
